Time data being converted unintentionally

I'm not a SQL Server programmer at all, so here is my question: I have a SQL Server database that is storing time started and time ended fields in the database as an integer(10). When I go into the program that uses this database, the time started/ended are displayed as normal mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss PM/AM format. Is there some sort of standard function that is being done to do this conversion?

Yes and no. SQL Server is doing nothing with your data. The problem is on the application side. It sounds like the application is implicitly converting your integer value into a datetime string.
