SQL Server 7.0's interpretation of dates

How does SQL Server 7.0 interpret dates? Will it make a difference if I change the date in the control panel/regional settings and pass two date ranges irrelevant of the date format set there?

SQL Server does not care. The settings in your control panel are display settings. They simply change the way dates are displayed. They do not change the dates. SQL Server stores dates as the number of seconds after a reference date. This means you will always have an accurate calculation and an acurate date regardless of how you display it.
