Replicating between heterogenous databases

I currently have a merge replication set up and working. We have a central SQL Server as a publisher and more than 1000 users that have local SQL Servers acting as the subscriber. My question is we want to move the SQL Server to an Oracle server databse, but keep all the laptops with SQL Servers. How do I replicate between those two heterogenous databases? It has to be a merge replication (we have some users working with the Oracle Server directly).

The only viable heterogenous "replication" solution I know of is a product called Data Mirror. Merge will NOT work across DBMSes.
