Converting Access database to SQL Server

As database rookies, we built an Access database, and now want to convert to SQL Server. Can we continue to use the Visual Basic "front end" that we built in Access? Is there a restriction with that front end, as far as its ability to handle multiple users, etc., because it originated in Access?

You can upsize the database to SQL Server and then just use linked tables to get up and running quickly. This makes Access oblivious to the fact the data lives elsewhere and gives you the advantage of a SQL Server. I would recommend converting that Access application to something more robust that directly talks to the SQL Server.
