SQL Sentry Event Manager, Version 3 is a scheduling, alerting and response system for optimizing the performance of database servers across your enterprise, with no agents to install and manage on each server.
SQL Sentry Event Manager, Version 3 provides a visual display of jobs for SQL Agent, Oracle DBMS, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle 10g Scheduler and Windows Tasks along with other events. The DBA can see how they relate to one another and is able to optimize the schedules more efficiently.
Some key features and benefits are visual schedule management; alerting/response system; SSIS/DTS support; cross-platform support; chaining/queuing; scheduled performance monitoring; lower database administration costs; improved application performance; reduced downtime; distributed agentless deployment; and 100% .NET based.
The upgrade to SQL Sentry Event Manager delivers advanced scheduling, alerting and automation capabilities for the Oracle platform that previous versions provided for SQL Server and Windows Task Scheduler. It also incorporates support for SQL Server 2005 SSIS packages.
SQL Sentry Event Manager's new features include:
- Giving SQL Server DBAs the ability to operate within a diverse database environment by providing enterprise-level visibility and control and automating a logical workflow between SQL Server and Oracle jobs.
- Allowing database administrators to monitor SQL Server 2005 SSIS packages. Problems with SSIS and DTS packages can be some of the most difficult to troubleshoot because there's no unified way to access log data via native SQL Server tools. Version 3 allows detailed logging for both SSIS and DTS packages and the ability to view results on the calendar and history list.
