STEP BY STEP - 10.6

Querying and updating index statistics

  1. Open the Query Analyzer from the Start menu.

  2. To see the statistics for the titleind index in the Titles table, use the following:
    USE pubs
    GO
    DBCC SHOW_STATISTICS (titles, titleind)
    

  3. To update its statistics, run the following:
    UPDATE STATISTICS titles titleind
