QUESTION POSED ON: 30 March 2007 I am working on an issue with an undocumented application, and the info is/was on a SS7 database, that was not maintained properly.
How can I restore jobs from msdb when all I have is either a backup of it (but don't want to restore it to another server's msdb) or no backup - just the .mdf and .ldf files?

You can restore this database to another server and just give the database a different name when you do the restore. From there, you could retrieve the job that you need and move that job to your other server.
