QUESTION POSED ON: 03 September 2003 Recently I had a disk drive go bad. The Transaction Log file was corrupted.
My client has no backups (shame on him), and I need to see if there is a way
of recovering the database from the existing MDF file.
I have tried everything I can think of with no success.
Attach with no LDF leaves me with a suspect database. sp_ResetStatus gives
me Prior to updating sysdatabases entry for database 'MSNTSAFE', mode = 0
and status = 1077936152 (status suspect_bit = 0).
No row in sysdatabases was updated because mode and status are already
correctly reset. No error and no changes made.
Any ideas?

If this is production data then I recommend you open a support case with
Microsoft support. You don't want to mess around and risk creating more
damage. I don't know if you will be successful in recovering the data or
not though.
