QUESTION POSED ON: 17 October 2004
I'm trying to install SQL Server on a two-node cluster on SAN. The problem is that after the installation wizard finishes and the setup starts, it is a matter of seconds before it aborts. I got the following message: "setup failed to perform required operations on the clustered nodes". Do you have any explanation?

>

Check the sqlstp.log file created in the c:winnt directory on your primary node. This should contain the reason for failure, or at least a few clues! Failing this there are some great articles on this error message on Microsoft's support site, visit http://search.support.microsoft.com and search for the error message.
