Q

Shrinking the log file

I have a 500+ MB log file, but my hard disk is full, and I need to shrink the log file or redirect it to a different unit. How can I do this?

You issue a backup log command first. Once that is done, you issue a DBCC shrinkdatabase or a DBCC shrinkfile.
