Resources for upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0

Can you advise on the exact steps to upgrade from SQL Server 6.5 databases to SQL Server 7.0 on a different machines, and how to do that through the TCP/IP? If that is not possible, can you advise on how to setup the Named Pipes connection? I've tried, and it creates error msg "Msg=Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."

SQL Server Books Online for SQL Server 7.0 has a detailed migration plan for upgrading from SQL Server 6.5 to...

7.0.
