Installing Enterprise Manager and the SQL Server Utilities

I want to install Enterprise Manager onto a server where a third party software package is running to monitor security on our firewall. This third party software uses MS SQL 2000 that gets installed with the software to store the data. Right now, I have to use command prompts to do any kind of administration so I wanted to install the SQL Server Utilities to assist me. How do I point Enterprise Manager to look at existing MDF files without creating them new? The MDF files, both data and log, are located on the same server where I will be installing the utilities.

You just install the SQL Server utilities. They are just another set of applications. You then just register the SQL Server you want to connect to within Enterprise Manager to connect to it.
