While trying to install SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition on Windows XP with Service Pack 2, I am getting the following error message: "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Standard edition server component is not supported on this operating system." Internet Information Server is not installed on my system. How should I proceed?
It's not an issue with IIS. SQL Server is supported on Windows XP Professional Edition but not Personal Edition. So upgrade to Professional Edition and you're good to go.
